Designing for mobile.
For Year Up's demographic, mobile design was very important. Most students do not have desktop computers forcing them to complete a large portion of their application on phones. The following is a screenshot of mobile menu iterations.
Year Up is a one-year, intensive training program that provides low-income young adults, ages 18-24, with a combination of hands-on skills development, coursework eligible for college credit, corporate internships, and wraparound support. They needed help rethinking and simplifying their student application process. This extensive project included everything from wireframing, to in-person user testing, to several design iterations, and even tone guidance for copywriting.
